Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 large Ambrosia apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • 2 tablespoon sugar optional

Instructions

  1. 1. In a saucepan, combine the chopped apples, water, lemon juice, and cinnamon (if using).
  2. 2. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the apples are very soft.
  3. 3. Remove from heat. If you prefer a chunky applesauce, mash with a potato masher. For a smoother texture, blend until smooth.
  4. 4. Taste and add sugar if desired. Let cool before serving or storing.
