Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Chilaca chile peppers roasted and peeled
  • 1 large Onion chopped
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 4 cups Chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Salt or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. 3. Add the roasted and peeled chilaca chile peppers, cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. 4. Pour in the chicken broth, add cumin and salt. Bring to a boil.
  5. 5. Reduce heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes.
  6. 6. Use a blender to puree the soup until smooth.
  7. 7. Serve hot, garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
