- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tomato, diced optional
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
Mash the avocado with a fork, leaving it a bit chunky.
Add the chopped onion, cilantro, jalapeño, lime juice, and salt. Mix to combine.
Fold in the diced tomato if using.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.
