Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups Gemstone Potatoes sliced thin
  • 2 large Sweet Onions sliced thin
  • 2 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Gruyere Cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly ground

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Top with half of the caramelized onions, half of the grated Gruyere cheese, and half of the heavy cream. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, onions, cheese, and cream. Season again with salt and pepper.
  5. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden brown.
  6. Let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving.
